How to prepare your inputs
Measure the surfaces being painted, deduct excluded openings and enter the paint’s coverage for that surface and coat system.
How this calculation works
Drop length = height + trim, rounded up to whole repeats when repeat > 0. Drops required = ceil(wall width ÷ roll width). Drops per roll = floor(roll length ÷ drop length).
A 6 m wall needs 12 drops at 0.53 m width. A 2.4 m height plus 0.1 m trim rounds to 2.7 m at a 0.3 m repeat; 10 m rolls give three drops, requiring four rolls.
Assumptions & exclusions
One wall, straight match and full-width drops only. No deduction for openings. Excludes half-drop, reverse hanging, borders, corner overlap and initial pattern alignment; these may need extra rolls. Confirm batch and supplier take-off.
Your next step
Confirm preparation, primers, number of coats and available tin sizes with your painter or supplier.

What if my shape or product is different?
Use dimensions and product data that match the stated method. For complex work, calculate separate sections or obtain a project-specific take-off. Do not apply simple geometry to structural or compliance decisions.
Why are quantities rounded up?
Whole bags, packs, sheets or cartridges round up to purchasable units. Decimal area or volume results are planning figures; confirm order increments with the supplier.

No. Entries remain in the current browser page and clear on reload. Printing can save your results and inputs as a PDF on your device.
