Tiling quantity & budget
Calculate coverage, whole packs and a material-plus-labour budget.
Quantity / scenario planning · Reviewed 7 October 2026Your inputs
Check all starting values against your project and product. Enter your own prices; keep costs on the same GST basis.
How to prepare your inputs
Measure each surface, choose the exact product and read its pack coverage or consumption rate. Confirm cuts, joints, depth and thickness.
How this calculation works
Required coverage = area × (1 + waste / 100). Packs round up. Budget = packs × pack price + net area × installation rate + extras.
24 m² plus 10% waste needs 26.4 m². At 1.5 m² per pack, buy 18 packs.
Assumptions & exclusions
Use your supplier’s pack coverage. Installation is charged on net area. Extras can include preparation, adhesives, trims and disposal.
Your next step
Check substrate preparation, adhesive compatibility, expansion joints, curing and supplier quantities with your tiler.

What if my shape or product is different?
Use dimensions and product data that match the stated method. For complex work, calculate separate sections or obtain a project-specific take-off. Do not apply simple geometry to structural or compliance decisions.
Why are quantities rounded up?
Whole bags, packs, sheets or cartridges round up to purchasable units. Decimal area or volume results are planning figures; confirm order increments with the supplier.
Are my entries saved?
No. Entries remain in the current browser page and clear on reload. Printing can save your results and inputs as a PDF on your device.
